Voice of Clients

SJCC&CS is providing much needed services to disadvantaged and highly at-risk young women & men. The Corps changes the lives of gang members, high school dropouts and unemployed youth. The City of San Jose is greatly helped by the services the Corps makes to its communities and citizens.

-Joe Coto - California State Assemblymember

Recycling is good business. San Jose Conservation Corps has provided assistance with HP Pavilion's recycling collection since 2007. We find the Corps leadership pro-active, attentive and responsive to our needs and the uniformed Corps members ready to serve. In partnership with SJCC, HP Pavilion has increased diversion of solid waste from landfill to 90+%.

-Monte Chavez - HP Pavilion

SJCC&CS provides a second chance to high school dropouts with an academic and job training program that transforms their lives. These students earn their diploma and learn skills that enable them to survive in the workforce and become role-models for their family and friends. SJCC&CS is the only over 18-years old program of its type in the state.

-Bob Nunez - East Side Union High School District

I am thrilled to have this child care site open in our district. San Jose Conservation Corps is a vital organization that provides a much needed service in our community.

-Councilmember Kansen Chu

Now these are the type of programs our children need. I am so happy I found this place for my 18 year old as she has been struggling since she had her daughter. It's not easy being a single mom so this place has been a blessing for her. Thank you SJCC, these programs were not around when I was younger.

-Lucia Castaneda- Mother of student

Second chance for drop-outs to earn a high school diploma. Just don't get caught up in the drama. You're not in high school anymore. Get in and get out!!!

-Emiliano Guzman-Former Graduate

Public education in California is challenged by shrinking budgets, but many schools are persevering and actually thriving in this economy. The San Jose Conservation Corps and Charter School is achieving their goals every year of graduating more former high school dropouts.

-Jim Stoch- Board Member

"This program is so much more than I had ever expected. I have learned so many meaningful job skills that will carry me over a lifetime; I am very proud of who I have become."

-Chris Gonzales, San Jose Conservation Corps Charter School Graduate

I am one of your accounts at Sports Basement and we are very impressed with your business. I just wanted to send you an email complimenting you and your staff on a very professional relationship. You have been excellent with your communication and timeliness. Your staff (the students) handle themselves very well when they are in our place of business and are always very well dressed as well. In the past 11 weeks we have been helping each other out, I have had absolutely nothing negative to say. Thank you for making this experience a positive one, it seems this organization attracts very good employees.
