Our Programs
Founded in 1987, the SJCC has provided more than 18,500 "at-risk" disadvantaged, young men and women (mostly minority) with the academic education, hands-on learning, and development of basic skills such as leadership, communication, computer literacy, and employment training needed to enter and succeed in the Silicon Valley skilled workforce. The SJCC offers secondary education courses through its on-site charter high school, and vocational education and job training through its Projects and Recycling Departments. Another program, YouthBuild San Jose, combines the mandatory academics with paid on-site job training in the high demand, high wage construction trades.
